The community radio will be giving residents an opportunity to nominate and vote for their favourite individuals or groups in all 29 categories of the awards which will include community, arts and sports.

According to one of the Diepkloof Community Radio presenters, Lindiwe Mohutsiwa known as Queen of Zamunda, through the awards the team aims to encourage and create a healthy community among residents while encouraging them to do good for their community.

“We want to honour and celebrate all those people who have been fighting to make a difference in the community.

“The awards will also feature local schools in which learners will also be given a platform to shine with all the hard work they have put in throughout the year. We know this will make them love their schools,” Queen of Zamunda said.

She added that they want to encourage residents who kept it going during the Covid-19 pandemic.
