Gauteng man is on the running for killing his girlfriend

He called his girlfriend's friend and ordered her to break down the shack door because he had killed his girlfriend.

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend on September 29 at Kanana Ext Four.

Police said the couple had been dating for five months.

Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi, Rabie Ridge SAPS spokesperson said the suspect reportedly left the home he shared with the deceased on the day of the incident and went to the home of the deceased’s friend to borrow her phone at around 06:45.

“After giving him her cellphone, he left. Around 09:00, the man reappeared and informed the complainant that he was still busy with her cellphone before departing once more.

“The suspect, who was living with the victim at Kanana informal settlement 4, called the complainant and her companion and ordered them to go break down the shack door because he had killed his girlfriend.

“The deceased was found on the bed, covered with a blanket. When the complainant took off the blanket, she saw that the deceased’s mouth was covered with a cloth.

“The complainant tried to wake the victim up but there was no response. The complainant went to SAPS Rabie Ridge to report the incident.

“The deceased was declared dead on the scene by the paramedics.

“The suspect is still on the run,” said Moremi.

Community members who may have information about the suspect’s whereabouts are urged by the police to come forward.
