Gauteng actress stars in What About the Boys

The young actress said the movie is a must-watch to get an insight into the lives of young men in the community.

Rhandzi Mathonsi (20) from Van Riebeeck Park stars in a film initiated by an organisation aimed at addressing young male issues.

Rhandzi landed a role as a supporting actor in the film titled What About The Boys.

Rhandzi Mathonsi plays Patience in the movie What About The Boys.

She started acting at the age of 15 doing theatre and she won the best supporting actor with SANCTA for her first theatre show, Stardust, which was staged at Springs Theatre.

Playing the part of Patience in What About The Boys, Rhandzi plays a 17-year-old high school girl who has a great passion for art and drama.

“She is not afraid to call a spade a spade. In this film, she is a problem solver. She comes up with a plan to make the school play about GBV,” said Rhandzi.

The young actress said the movie is a must-watch to get an insight into the lives of young men in the community.

She also said she resonates with her character and how she can make things happen.

“Like Patience, I’m a problem solver.

“I don’t tolerate what is happening to our women and I strive to help make a difference and get our voices back,” Rhandzi.
