They spent the day enjoying themselves in the school play area where lots of fun activities had been prepared for them.

Toys, jumping castles, face painting, the school mascot and lovely goodie bags had been prepared by the school to make sure the little ones enjoy their Saturday.

While they were having fun outside, parents were given information on what role the school plays in the development of their children.

The Open Day was for Grade R to Grade 3 for the 2023 academic year.

“On the day parents had an opportunity to learn more about our beautiful school, meet the teachers, and experience the CAPG journey,” said Dora Nkosi who is the Marketer for the Protea Glen based school.

Some of the topics that were discussed with parents include bullying and respect amongst children.

Parents all agreed with the school representatives that they need to work together as a collective to make sure that a conducive environment for learning is created for their children.

They also agreed that they all have a role to play in making sure that a strong foundation to life is created for their children through the school.

Parents were also taken on a guided tour of the school by teachers.

They explained how they teach their learners and what activities they get up to when they are in class.

“Our primary school foundation phase starts by providing the emotional and intellectual foundation required to handle the formal learning that starts in Grade 1.

“Our enhanced curriculum then gradually develops learners’ 21st-century skills and knowledge in basic areas such as language (comprehension, speaking, and listening), mathematics (counting and understanding numbers), and creative problem-solving in an environment where they enjoy coming to school.

“Learners at our Curro Academy School even benefit from being introduced to Robotics through Duplo Lego,” explained Nkosi.
