The Greater Eldorado Park Community Policing Forum, Eldorado Park SAPS, and Eldorado Park Devine Intervention held a prayer session for the community and for the people who have lost their lives to gun violence.

The prayer session comes after several months of shootings in the area with the latest incident claiming the life of the young Wesley Roberts on July 19 at the Leon flats in Extension 4.
Residents came out to support this initiative as the chairperson of the Greater Eldorado Park Minister’s Prayer Network, Apostle Anthony Hulley delivered a short sermon to encourage the community to hold on and continue to pray so that gun violence can be a thing of the past.
The grandmother of Roberts, Alice Roberts spoke with a broken heart and tears filled her eyes as she thanked the people of the flats for helping her grandson in a time of need.

Marcelle Daniels from the Community Policing Forum also assured the grieving family that there has been a breakthrough with the case as arrests have been made.
Various stakeholders prayed for the community and extended a word of encouragement to residents asking them to stand in unity and pray so that God can intervene.
