The family of Tshegofatso Pule is glad that justice has been served and will finally get a chance to move on with the mourning process for their daughter.

Speaking outside the Johannesburg High Court following the sentencing, family spokesperson, Tumisang Katake said the long process of finding justice for their child took an emotional tall on them as a family.
“It’s been a very long journey. You can imagine the emotions that we have been carrying for the whole two years as a family.
“All we can say now is that justice has been served,” said Katake adding that justice is all they have been praying and hoping for.”
The trauma and the hurt the family went through during the trial was immense, especially when the CCTV footage from Ntuthuko Shoba’s house showing Tshegofatso driving away with her killer was played in court.
Katake said, “The suffering and the ordeal that Mr Shoba has put us through as a family, it felt like we were burying Tshegofatso again in that court room hence the emotions that erupted.

“I guess from here it’s for us to put this whole thing behind us, start mourning and start the healing process as well.”
Katake added that he doesn’t think there was a possibility of his family having talks with Shoba’s family.
“They are very lucky as a family because they still have a chance to see and talk to him in prison.
“We are left with so many questions that we still need answers to and it’s only Ntuthuko that can answer those questions,” said an emotional Katake.
He ended by thanking the community for the support and the love they have shown the family throughout this difficult time.
