This is one of the biggest festivals in the Soweto entertainment calendar and this year it is expected to be even bigger considering that people have been denied entertainment due to Covid-19.

The Soweto Kota Festival is where kota makers from across the province converge to showcase their culinary skills. It is also a big booster for local businesses and the Soweto economy.

“Together with our Kota outlets, we will be ready to serve you fresh Kotas that feature the usual tried and trusted fillings through to those with unexpected ingredients that will wow your taste buds.

There will also be a kids entertainment area, live performances throughout the two days with the best DJ’s as well as spot prize giveaways on both days,” says Sidwell Tshingilane, the founder of the Soweto Kota Festival.

He added that over 40 kota outlets from across the province are expected to exhibit at this year’s festival.

The two day festival has been drawing huge crowds since its inception five years ago at the Soweto Theatre.
