Eight suspects arrested during operation ‘skoon maak’

Offences range from murder, attempted murder, robbery, possession of drugs, possession of stolen motor vehicle, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property.

The Eldorado Park SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Maluleke and members led an intensified operation on July 8 which yielded successful results.

The operation commenced at 10am within the Greater Eldorado Park policing precinct.

According to Sergeant Roxanne Gibb, as a result of the operation, a total of eight suspects were detained for various offences ranging from murder, attempted murder, robbery, possession of drugs, possession of stolen motor vehicle, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property.

“The addresses provided by community members of the alleged lolly lounges were also raided.

“The tracing of wanted suspects was conducted as well as random stop and searches. Illegal taverns were also raided by the members where dangerous weapons including knives were confiscated,” said Gibb.

Other confiscations included crystal meth drugs all of which were seized during the operation.

The various suspects are due to appear before the respective courts during the course of the week.
