JUST IN: Mass shooting in Mdlalose’ tarven in Olando
Testimony from residents say a group of armed men entered the tavern at about 00:30 and opened fire at the victims.

14 people were shot and killed at Mdlalose’s Tarven in Orlando on the early hours of Sunday 10 July.

According to the police, at least ten more people have been admitted to the hospital following the incident.

Currently the provincial police commissioner, Elias Mawela and Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko are at the scene.

“Investigations are underway to find the cause and the motive; testimony from residents say a group of armed men entered the tavern at about 00:30 entered and opened fire.

“It has not yet been established it this was a robbery,” Mawela.

Mzwandile Khathi, editor of the Soweto Urban, who’s at the scene said bodies are also being removed from the scene.
