The #ThesisxKOO range is a hip streetwear range which not only celebrates Soweeto’s heritage but it is also symbolises a milestone for the Mofolo based youth owned business.

Founded by young entreprenuers, Wandile Zondo and Galebowe Mahlatsi, Thesis Lifestyle has for over 15 years been at the forefront of telling kasi stories and pushing youth culture in Soweto.

The latest collaboration with KOO is in line with the brand’s launch of KOO Pilchards.

It is also a meger of two heritage brands, one being Soweto based and youth owned while the other has been a national favourite for years.

The new street wear range include branded and beautifully designed has t-shirts, hoodies and hats.

“As a brand, nostalgia has been a super power of ours because for generations, we have been in the forefront of crafting significance and memories with our consumers and KOO Pilchards is no different,” said Edna Maphita, Marketing Director for Tiger Brands.

“Throughout the years, the mandate for KOO has not only been to become the leaders in the FMCG industry, but to also empower the communities it serves.

“The #ThesisxKOO collaboration is testament to the brands ongoing mission to elevate the talents of young South Africans through purposeful collaborations.”

She added that the collaboration with Thesis Lifestyle will create more memories not only for Sowetans but for the whole country.

For Zond and Mahlatsi, the collaboration means growth and recognition for comething that was born and bred in Soweto. It is also a platform for them to continue telling local stories in their own way but for a bigger audience.

The partnership was announced during an event held at Thesis Lifestyle in Mofolo.

It was attended by the whos who of the local social scene and hosted by social media entrepreneur and content creator Azola Mona.

Revellers got a chance to sample the KOO Pilchards infused menu while enjoying some laidback local tunes together with sundowners.
