Rena Le Lona hands out school shoes to beneficiaries in Diepkloof

The Diepkloof based NPO handed out 179 school shoes, winter hats and dignity packs to parents and foster parents of its beneficiaries.

Parents braved the cold weather on Wednesday, June 22 and gathered at Rena Le Lona Creative Centre for Children to ensure that their children get new pair of school shoes.

The Diepkloof based NPO handed out 179 school shoes, winter hats and dignity packs to parents and foster parents of its beneficiaries.

The donation was made possible by the Global Fund for Jesus to help parents who do not afford to purchase new school shoes for their children.

Mlungisi Mvelase, the manager of Rena Le Lona said, “Every child deserves a decent school shoe.

Rena Le Lona Creative Centre for Children prides itself in investing in future leaders by making sure that the children’s education and schools needs are catered for.

 

“It is winter and children need to be warm, that is why we saw the need to hand out school shoes and hats to our beneficiaries to keep them in school this winter.

“Rena Le Lona strives to see every child who is from a disadvantaged background afforded the same opportunities that their peers who are more privileged have.” Lucy Zwane, the grandmother of Zinhle Zwane, a beneficiary of Rena Le Lona received the donation on Wednesday.

She said she was grateful for the continued support by the organisation as she often was unable to provide due to financial constraints.

“I am very thankful to Rena Le Lona for giving my granddaughter brand new school shoes.

“It will be much help because I am a pensioner and the shoes that my granddaughter was wearing to school were old and I could not afford new ones. I pray that the centre continues doing the great work it is doing in our community,” said Zwane.

According to Mvelase, Rena Le Lona Creative Centre for Children prides itself in investing in future leaders by making sure that the children’s education and schools needs are catered for.

He further stated that beneficiaries of Rena Le Lona get all the academic assistance they need at the centre and in their homes from dedicated care-givers.

The centre is pleading with the community to assist in ensuring that children at the Rena Le Lona centre are warm throughout winter by making donations to the organisation.
