Celebrating birthday by giving back to Mofolo elders

The event kicked off with the elders being made to exercise, a walk about around the facility to see how the rooms and bathrooms look and also to get a sense of what else they need that the health group can assist with.

Founder of the Clinix health group Khamane Obed Peter (Kop) Matsteke’s birthday was celebrated at the Salvation Army Ephiaim Zulu Senior Citizen Centre in Mfolo on June 15.

The event took place in the home’s hall where the health group had a nice set up, catering and gifts for the elders.

“Our founder believes in giving back and that’s why we decided to come and visit this elderly home to celebrate with them and to show that we appreciate and love them,” said Kgolo Matseke, hospital manager.

He continued to say that the home is no stranger to the health group and as part of their community development programme, it’s one of the residential institutions they help.

Lunch and desert was served and the elders were given blankets and One Direction cups to keep them warm this cold winter season.

 

They were also taught how to protect themselves from flu and pneumonia especially with their old age it can be deadly.
