This programme looks at covering what GBV is, the causes, the effects, where people can get assistance and what assistance they can receive in terms of the departments and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).

The target of this programme is males in the community. The plan is to get 100 men and boys to attend the programme in Kliptown.

“We have realised that as GBV continues in the country, we do have programmes that focus on women but we tend to put away men.

“Men also have issues that they need to deal with, they need to have spaces where they can discuss and talk freely.

“They need to find out where they can get help because some of them are victims,” said Nomzamo Mbhense, a social worker.

There are many men and young boys that are being abused.

This is exactly what they programme aims to address, education men.

The dialogue is also for people on the ground to tell stakeholders what exactly it is that they need so that they can change their interventions to best suit the people. More information on the dialogue will be released soon.
