She reminded the youth that despite the life struggles one shouldn’t forget who he or she is.

“Young people shouldn’t forget where they come from. We have to be proud of our cultures and traditions. Also not forgetting to always be respectful,” she said.

She continued to say that her love for culture and tradition as a proud Zulu girl is from the teachings and advice she got from her elders from a young age.

“From that I found a great love for tradition and my roots,” Imina said.

Her poems are to inspire and motivate people about life that despite whatever is happening around you or in your own yard, don’t give up. Pick yourself up, and keep moving forward with prayer and respect.

“My passion for poems comes from life experiences and hardships that we all face,” she said.
