UPDATE: Minor disruptions on Chris Hani Road as marchers gather at Maponya Mall for march to Mayor’s Office

Taxis are operating normally and it’s business as usual for many Sowetans who are going to work.

Some Soweto residents have stated to make their way to Maponya Mall where they will convene before marching to the mayor’s office to deliver a petition.

There had been reports of a planned total shutdown for Tuesday but the situation remain calm with law enforcement authorities on high alert.

Taxis are operating normally and it’s business as usual for many Sowetans who are going to work.

Traffic was a bit disrupted on Chris Hani Road as residents of Protea South were making their way to Maponya Mall to join the march but no major incidents were reported.
