Soweto youth invited to drug and mental health awareness programme

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness about the dangers and effects of substance abuse and connecting victims and affected family members and friends.

The Wits Health Hubb is inviting Sowetans, especially young people to a Substance Abuse and Mental Health awareness campaign to be held at Jabulani Safe-Hub on June 24.

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness about the dangers and effects of substance abuse and to connect victims and affected family members and friends that need help to organisations or institutions that can assist them.

Wits Health Hubb has collaborated with the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) and the South African Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA) to put the awareness campaign together with an aim of helping the youth.

The guest speaker for the day will be Thato Mbha also known as TT Mbha from Amatyma.

There will also be activities like group discussions, competitions and more for the youth to engage on and all age groups from the community are invited.

Venue: Jabulani Safe Hub 2229 Reholweni Street, Jabulani (behind old Jabulani flats). Time: 9:00am – 14:00 pm
