This comes after officials from the Education Department Sabelo Ndlovu and Circuit manager of D14 Muzi Sibisi addressed parents gathered at the school in a heated exchanged on Tuesday morning.

The highly charged meeting concluded with no amicable resolution as angry parents revealed their dissatisfaction and told officials to leave the school premises.

The on-going dispute at the school in Zone 2 emerged following the circulation of reports stating that the previous school Paul Mbatha would allegedly be returned to the school.

“The officials are failing us. We have previously engaged in a meeting with them and we were given hope that the current principal is the one that will be in charge until such a time when there is a new appointment.

“But to our surprise yesterday we saw them arriving and removed him from office and told us that they would be returning the old principal who left in 2019,” said National Association of School Governing Bodies (NASGB) branch leader, Nhlanhla Tshabalala.

She added tha aAs parents and the community they don’t want that principal but they want Qulu who has proven his leadership skills.

Tshabalala also claimed that they have not been consulted on recent changes, adding that the officials have remained mum on feedback.

“We have written letters to the department including the HOD, Edward Mosuwe and there is no feedback from them hence we are here today because. Today the school is without a principal because of their decisions. Even if Mbatha comes, we will remove him. We don’t want any other principal except Qulu.”

According to the parents, the school has changed principals three times in the last five years, with Qulu being the recent principal appointed at the beginning of this year.

Lwazi Gasa, a mother of two at the school said they are fighting for a stable learning environment for their children.

“We want our principal Mr Qulu to return to the school with immediate effect. Qulu is the one person who has been instrumental in fixing the school,” she said.

“Now they want to change him and do as they please without proper communication with the parents. As parents we will ensure that doesn’t happen.”
