This was done in collaboration with her son’s birthday celebration as he turned 50.

Different speakers on the day described Gogo as a very loving, kind hearted person and one who fears and love the Lord with her entire being.

One of her grandsons, Motsamai Mokoatle said, “We are thankful to God for having kept out grandmother who has played a major role in our upbringing. As many as we were, we never went to bed hungry, she always provided for us.

We therefore thought that it would be wise for us to show her love and celebrate her while she can still see us and is still alive. It’s not everyone who reaches 100 years; we do not take this blessing for granted.”

Her first born son, Bernard Mokoatle, who is 78-years-old said he is glad and honoured that his mother has lived for a century.

“Growing up under her watch and care is a blessing that I will forever cherish. As a first born I can say I was spoiled.

However I am grateful for everything she has taught me in this journey of life,” he said.

Bernard said that the secret for his mother living for a century and continue going strong, was that she is living a healthy lifestyle, eats healthy food and believes in God.

Besides her experience of memory loss at times due to her old age, Gogo is still fit and takes care of herself.
