Kromvlei Cemetery cleaned up

Alberton residents have been complaining about the bad conditions at the Kromvlei cemetery. The RECORD took a visit to the gravesite and was glad to find most of the things in order.

After receiving numerous complaints from Alberton residents about the conditions of the Kromvlei Cemetery, the Alberton RECORD is glad to report that the situation has been resolved.

According to one of the residents complaining, the gravesites were in a terrible state due to overgrown grass and heaps of stone everywhere on the site.

Furthermore, it was said that it was too emotional for individuals to visit their loved ones and to see where one is heading to.

The Alberton RECORD reached out to the councillor of ward 38, Malcolm Maifala-Masebe, and he said that if our questions were for an article, we should refer our questions to the city’s communication department.

“I am more than willing to refer the matter to the department to assist provided I am given the reference number of the issue at hand,” said Maifala-Masebe.

After the RECORD visit to the burial ground on May 25, the grass was cut, the cemetery was clean and most of the things were in order from what it was said to be.
