Allianz invests in Diepdale Secondary School

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has invested over R1 million in improving educational outcomes by introducing programmes such as the Allianz Maths and Science Centre and the Saturday School Programme.

Diepdale Secondary School in Diepkloof Zone 2 has in the past years benefited from this initiative. The school’s matric pass rate was only 58.9% in 2017 when the company introduced the programme to the school.

The results improved significantly with the school obtaining an averaged pass rate of over 80% in 2018 and 2019. Diepdale Secondary also achieved 75,2% matric pass rate in 2020 and has improved with 5% to 80.2% in the 2021 academic year, making it one of the Diepkloof based schools that did well last year.

The CEO of AGCS in South Africa, Thusang Mahlangu who was born and bred in Pimville has recently awarded Grade 12 learners who did well at the school with brand new laptops and data. The three learners who were awarded are, Christopher Munyai, Lufuno Gadisi and Naho Ramnenyiwa.

Munyai is planning to study Eco-Tourism at the Vaal University of Technology while Gadisi plans to study Geology at the University of the Free State and Ramnenyiwa will be studying Labour Law at the Vaal University of Technology.
