Cilliers made it into the Top 20 of the Miss Soweto 2021 pageant and shared that she is so proud of herself and is honoured to have made it so far in the pageant.

“There are so many lessons that I have learnt and not only about myself but also about communication skills, leadership, interviews, and poise. The pageantry world is a doorway for those who want to be on stage, give back and of course, learn more about themselves. There are so many things I discovered about myself that I never even knew. I was literally taken out of my shell,” shared Cilliers.

The 19-year-old said that she realized that he didn’t need to win the Miss Soweto crown to follow through with wanting to encourage young ladies to embrace their unique beauty. She shared that she would like to spend her time visiting schools to interact with young girls, to share her experiences as well encourage them to be the best version of themselves.

“I believe that would bring the positive change we need in the community,” she added. When asked if there was anything she would change from her pageant experience, Cilliers shared that she would not change anything. “I worked extremely hard, was present at all times, and sacrificed a lot. I am convinced that God has much better in store for me as I am trusting the process. I will be your Miss South Africa in the future,” she said.

Cilliers is starting her first year at the University of Johannesburg and she will continue working. She also plans on carrying out her responsibilities as the title-holder of Miss Eldorado Park 2021 1st Princess. She would like to initiate her own initiative which she shared is still in the planning phase. In the future, she would love to focus on reducing the unemployment rate and teenage pregnancy.

Cilliers leaves us with a quote to remember: “You are the artist of your own life. Don’t hand the paintbrush to anyone else.”
