16 boys from the Gail Britoe Foundation in Eldorado Park, Extension 2 (small 2) were invited by the barbershop to get free school boy haircuts just before they went back to school.

Evelyn Roscotch, the owner of Kings Barbershop said: “I thought that is a good way to give back to the community. I actually grew up in the small 2 and that’s how I know Ensley Britoe who is the founder of the Gail Britoe Foundation. This was the first of many charity projects that the barbershop will be having in the community.”

The new owner shared that she was always passionate about hair from a really young age and is now finally owning her own barbershop.

“I would like us to focus on empowering the youth of our community, when people look at us, they just see drugs or people who like sitting on the corners so I really want to empower the youth and at the end try to get them qualified in the hair, beauty and spa industry,” added Roscotch.

The owner said that she would like to encourage more people to take opportunities because you never know what could come from them. Roscotch has big plans for the barbershop and said that she would like to add more to it so that she can make it more attractive for the youth.
