According to his brother, Bheki Masedi, Pona left his home in Diepkloof Zone 2 at 9am on Tuesday going to Bara to withdraw money to go visit his relatives in Rustenburg, North West, however, he did not arrive in Rustenburg nor return back home and his phone was off.

“We received a phone call from Rustenburg on Wednesday, November 17, notifying us that he never arrived. And then on Whatsapp we received a text from a lady who alleged that she picked up Pona’s phone in a taxi and in a status updated, she had posted that she is looking for anyone who might know the owner of the phone, however, when we tried contacting the person via Whatsapp video calls she doesn’t pick up and our messages are also blue ticked,” said Masedi.

” Trying to trace his moves we also contacted his cousin in Braamfischer, who also told us that he last saw him on Wednesday, November 17 during the day and were drinking beers together and apparently he took a taxi but it wasn’t clear whether he took a local taxi to Diepkloof or taxi to Jozi. So until today we don’t know where Pona is and we are hoping and praying for his safe return,” he added.

Pona was last seen wearing a blue hat, black pants and sky blue top. Anyone with information on his whereabouts may contact his brother on 068 037 2999. He is also a man of many nicknames others know him as Phoyisa, Baby Police, Mawozela and Moruti.
