Murder suspect found guilty and sentenced to ten years direct imprisonment

Eldorado ParkDetective Constable LG Molokeng sleepless nights pay off as suspect finally gets sentenced.

On November, 30 2019 the Eldorado Park SAPS members attended to a complaint of murder, which occurred at Cavendish Street, Nancefield Industria.

According to Constable Roxanne Gibb, the victim who was then a 25-year-old male resided in Joe Slovo Park was tied up and his head decapitated.

The witness alleged that she had received a phone call from the suspect who had informed her that he had murdered the victim and dumped his body at an open veld in Nancefield Industria.

She followed up on the information and discovered the deceased, and thereafter contacted the Eldorado Park SAPS who immediately responded.

A case of murder was opened and investigated by Detective Constable LG Molokeng. The suspect thereafter was on the run from police.

“During vigorous and thorough investigation, the Investigating Officer and members of Eldorado Park SAPS traced and arrested the suspect at Luka village in Rustenburg, after he attended to flee to Lesotho,” said Constable Gibb.

Detective Constable Molokeng spent nights obtaining evidence and information that linked the suspect to the murder of the 25-year-old deceased victim. The matter was placed on the court roll and heard at Soweto Magistrate Court.

On Thursday, October 21, 2021 the matter was finalized and the 31-year-old accused was sentenced to ten years direct imprisonment.

“Eldorado Park SAPS commends the hefty sentenced secured by Detective Constable Molokeng. His determination and commitment are considered admirable by Management and colleagues of the Eldorado Park SAPS,” added Gibb.

The acting Station Commander, Colonel Mbatha congratulates Detective Constable Molokeng for securing such conviction and believes that it will serve as a deterrent in the prevention of murders within the Greater Eldorado Park policing precinct. He further warns that those who intend to commit the offences as murdering people, that the mighty hand of the law will get to them, and those hefty sentences such as these will be imposed on them.
