Pitso awarded recognition award by Copessa

Copessa recognises and awards one of their hard working colleague.

During a GBV and Covid-19 vaccination hesitancy dialogue held by Copessa last Thursday at Copessa Children’s Park, Amos Nick Pitso, a Protea Glen resident who started as a client of Copessa and later volunteered and dedicated himself to serving the community and has now started a Men’s Forum was awarded a recognition award by Copessa.

The award was handed over by Dr Nobs Mwanda. Reading the message that came with the award, she said, “It is with great appreciation that we present to you the Copessa recognition award for the third quarter of 2021, you were nominated by your colleagues for displaying the following behaviours: community commitment and focus, you are committed to whatever task you are given, focused on helping the community and upholding the mission of the company”.

After being handed over the award, a shocked Pitso thanked his colleagues. “ I would like to thank Copessa, Dr Mwanda and my colleagues, when I arrived at Copessa I was vulnerable, and was a father with challenges at home, I stepped forward , agreed and admitted that I am a father with faults, I am however grateful and thankful that Copessa helped me to deal with those faults,” said Pitso.

“It’s a privilege and an honour that I have been awarded and it comes with new challenges that lie ahead of me to work towards another level of growth .The strength that God has given me is very simple yet needs a dedicated someone. My strength is serving people wherever I go, through serving I get to learn something new on a daily basis,” he added.

Pitso started a men’s forum encouraging to unite Protea Glen Men and engage them in trying to tackle issues affecting men emotionally and sometimes physically. “We are against GBV and working towards mitigating the effects of domestic violence in our homes with the vision of empowering men financially through skills development programs, to help men to deal with their issues and be mentally healthy. To educate and eliminate stress and depression among men,” explained Pitso.

Pitso’s motivation is that he survived GBV and domestic violence and his testimony motivates him to help other men who are struggling with domestic issues.
