“For me, the biggest inspirations are Duncan and Zakwe. Those guys made it cool to rap in vernac (vernacular) and changed the game completely. Since then I knew that wanted to e in Hip Hop. Since then he has released an EP titled The Power of The Cable he has not signed with any record label and admitted that being an independent artist was difficult.

“It’s difficult being an independent artist. You have to do everything yourself. Everything costs money, from studio time to marketing. That’s the hardest part of it, just trying to get out there and be known,” he said.

Despite the challenges, Cable insisted that independence was the future.

“I still think more and more artists will go independent at some point. As difficult as it is, it is nice to have your own things and be in control of everything that happens,” added Cable

To artists who are thinking of going into the music scene.

“People have different levels of luck. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. You just have to keep moving forward. The fear right now is that some record labels take advantage of artists and that’s why I think more and more artists are choosing to go independent,” he advised.

For himself, Cable still has big plans for the next few years.

“Hopefully things take off. I want to put in the work and maybe have studio equipment of my own and be able to cut the costs of making music. I want to work with more artists and see what we can achieve if we are united,” he concluded.

Blow Up is available on all digital streaming platforms.
