A Diepkloof man arrested for robbing courier guy who was delivering medication early this year, pleaded guilty and confessed that he thought the boxes he stole from the courier car contained cellphones and he never intended to steal medication.

“On February 24 at around 12:30 in Diepkloof Zone 2, Medi-Courier was delivering medication for a client at Kholofelo Street when a car came in a high speed, stopped in front of the courier gentleman who was taking out a box of medication to give to a client. The suspect then pointed him with a firearm and demanded him to move away so that he can take all the boxes inside the car. The suspect then removed all the boxes with medication and loaded them in his car and left in a high speed,” said Diepkloof SAPS spokesperson, captain Phephi Matlou.

“The community witnessed everything and the suspect was known to them. After a case of armed robbery was opened under which detective Sgt Sunnyboy Magengenene was the investigating officer, he investigated the case and the suspect was arrested.”
