Two boys between the ages of 8 and 10 were abducted at Protea Glen Extension 16 on Heritage Day and later dumped in an open veld in Extension 11.

According to the parents of one of the boys, the children were from watching a soccer game at a soccer field next to Glenridge Shoprite when the incident happened. “In the morning the young boys who are friends asked to dress in their traditional regalia in celebration of Heritage Day.

They then went to play in the streets and they later went to watch a soccer game. On their way back home they saw a white Ford Ranger with no registration and broken windows following them. The car then stopped next to them.

Two old men got out of the car and took the boys, tied their hands, blindfolded them, and covered their mouth,” said one of the boys’ parents.
