MEC Jacob Mamabolo together with transport sector partners visit the N12

Truck drivers take the jab.

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport held a fright vaccination drive at the Sasol garage on the N12 in Protea.

The vaccination and #RequestASlotGP campaigns was led by MEC Jacob Mamabolo together with transport sector partners. On arrival, the MEC addressed truck drivers on the importance of getting vaccinated and booking for their PDP and Driver’s license renewal slots at a facility made accessible for them on that day.

The turnout from truck drivers was impressive. Before midday, health workers had administered 42 jabs, with the majority of them being males.

After interacting with truck drivers and motorists who had been vaccinated at the pop up site, MEC Mamabolo said, “I am quite impressed with the turnout we received from man. I am excited to say that though most men fear injections, they were able to conquer this one and have taken a leap of faith in saving their lives and that of their loved ones.”
