Man behind bars for possession of drugs and bribery

An anonymous tip-off results in an arrest by SAPS in Eldorado Park.

On Saturday, September 18 at approximately 4pm members of SAPS were conducting patrol duties and stop and search around the Greater Eldorado Park precinct.

Whilst patrolling along Boundary Road Extension 9, they came across an anonymous source who informed them of an address whereby drugs had allegedly been sold.

Upon arrival at the given address, the members came across a 31-year-old male, who upon searching was found to be in possession of ten (10) tablets suspected to be mandrax drugs.

“The 31-year-old male suspect was thereafter placed under arrest for possession of drugs. The suspect then attempted to bribe the SAPS members by offering them five hundred Rand (R500. 00) for his release,” said Constable Roxanne Gibb.

The members then added a charge of bribery and the 31-year-old suspect was detained on the charges of possession of drugs and bribery. The exhibits were seized, booked in and will be used as evidence during the investigation.

“Eldorado Park SAPS commends and encourages the community members to continue providing information that may lead to arrest and eventually lead to the curbing of crime within the Greater Eldorado Park,” added Gibb.
