Getting to know Re’gee Scorpio, a local rapper
The artist realised his passion for rap music at the age of 15 where he would rap in the shower and sometimes even perform in front of a mirror.
22-year-old Kagiso Montoedi popularly known by his stage name Re’gee Scorpio is eager to gain some light in the music industry. Scorpio is a Hip-Hop artist, a music composer, and an aspiring actor.
The artist realised his passion for rap music at the age of 15 where he would rap in the shower and sometimes even perform in front of a mirror.
“I started writing lyrics and rapping at the age of 15 before I got introduced to a studio to record my first song Nas- One Mic,” said Scorpio.

In 2016, he then recorded a song titled Vision, produced by a Cape Town-based producer, TMU. The artist believes that the single made waves in the streets of Soweto.
Working with different artists who have been in the industry for longer helped him gain more experience in the industry find his foot. “My greatest comeback was when I got featured by other artists. I started getting booked for performances. Around 2018/19 I got a lot of radio interviews, radio plays and I performed at the biggest event called Umshubelo by Kwesta in Katlegong with major mainstream artists,” explained Scorpio.
Last year, the artist released his debut EP, The summary, which gained him more power in the entertainment industry and an opportunity to write songs with Shekinah and DJ Sliqe.
“My fans and supporters can finally expect me to release hits that will comfort and heal them,” he concluded.
