Protea residents can now get their jab at the Protea Glen Fire Station

Protea Glen launched a pop up vaccination site.

The launch of the site comes after there was a call in August for residents to get their jab at Protea Glen Mall.

Thalani Mtshali, the chairperson of Protea Glen Clinic said the launch of the site is meant to ease unnecessary travels for people who want to take their jabs.

The programme is expected to run until all residents of protea and Soweto in large have vaccinated.

“We urge the residents to come and get their jab, they only need to come with their ID, get screened and registered to take the jab,” said Mtshali.

The site opens from 7 am- 4pm from Monday to Friday, while the health care workers also offer jabs on Saturdays at Protea Glen Extension 16, opposite Shoprite.

One of the residents who came to get their Pfizer jab said, “Looking at the situation and the pandemic at hand, it is only right that one gets their vaccine so they can protect themselves and their loved ones. I believe this is a safer way to help build protection as it strengthens your immunity and should you get infected with COVID, the symptoms won’t be severe.”
