Diepkloof Zone 3 residents fuming over electricity outages

These residents have been without electricity since Tuesday.

Ghost Town and Zone 3 residents in Diepkloof took to the streets in protest against Eskom and it’s power cuts, closing and blocking roads with rocks and burning tyres, these include some of the busy roads including, Immink Drive and Soweto Highway.

The protest started yesterday and is continuing today and is threatening to intensify during the pick hours of today if Eskom doesn’t respond to their cry.

This morning the community also fetched ward 29 Councilor Brenda Dammie at her home in Noordgesig, and according to the residents who are currently sitting in the sun at the Soweto

Highway to make sure that no car passes, Dammie and some residents went to MegaWatt Park Eskom offices and they’re waiting for her to revert to them with feedback. JMPD was also seen monitoring the protest.
