ACED centre to help with online registration

'It is very important to get Eldorado Park children registered in the schools in the area.'

The Academic Citizenship and Economic Development Centre (ACED Centre) is one of the bases where parents can go register their children for the 2022 admissions online applications.

Centre manager Clint Langson shared that parents with children in Grade 7 at public schools need to register their children for Grade 8. The centre which is located at 78 Boundary Road, Eldorado Park is welcoming parents to register their children for Grade 8. Registrations close on September 3.

Before an application can be made, parents or guardians must contact the primary school where their child is currently in Grade 7 to provide accurate and updated information.

“We are only a base, so we have officials from the Department of Education where they are helping the parents register their children. A lot of the parents do not have access to the internet so we are opening our doors by providing this service free of charge. This is part and parcel of us making sure that no child or parents are left out,” said Langson.

Parents with children who need to start Grade 1 next year will have the opportunity to register their children from September 13 to October 8 at the centre.

Important documents that parents or guardians need to bring with to the centre: proof of residence, a copy of your ID and the birth certificates of the child/ren. All documents need to be certified.

“We do not want people to wait until last minute, people have to take this opportunity. We do not want people from Eldorado Park saying that schools are taking in children from other communities while the parents are not coming to register their children. It is very important to get Eldorado Park children registered in the schools in the area,” added Langson.

The centre starts with the registrations on Monday to Thursday from 9am to 3pm and Fridays 9am to 1pm. It is important for guardians to come with the correct certified documents when you go and register.
