400 schools to benefit from DHL and Lifesaving South Africa deal

Over 400 schools are set to benefit from DHL's partnership with LSA, specifically in the Watersmart Programme that will focus on teaching drowning prevention and create employment for 50 Life Guards who will serve as facilitators.

Express service provider DHL has thrown its weight behind Lifesaving South Africa. The partnership announced recently will see DHL being LSA Presenting Partner rights for the national Wastersmart water safety program, Primary Partner to LSA’s lifeguards, and the naming rights of the National Championships.

“As a truly purpose-driven partnership, we look forward to playing our part in delivering water safety for all. Our organisation-wide purpose is connecting People & Improving Lives and Lifesaving’s mission is to save lives and build better communities,” said Jed Michaletos, Managing Director for DHL Express South Africa.

Over 400 schools are set to benefit from DHL’s partnership with LSA, specifically in the Watersmart Programme that will focus on teaching drowning prevention and create employment for 50 Life Guards who will serve as facilitators. This is on top of the Watersmart digital hub to further stretch the reach of the programme.

As a result, more than 3500 lifeguards will don the new DHL LSA duty kit while Lifesaving clubs be awarded brand new equipment. LSA President Dhaya Sewduth thanked DHL.

“We truly appreciate the impact that DHL’s sponsorship will make to LSA. This is a major commitment and to have a global brand like DHL come on board is incredible. We are committed to working closely with the DHL team as we move forward together,” Sewduth commented.
