Man(26) arrested for drug dealing in Eldorado Park

Eldorado Park SAPS encourages community members to continue reporting those who are contravention of the stipulated laws that have been instituted to ensure a drug free society.

“As we continue working together to curb the drug related matters within the Greater Eldorado Park, especially during Drug Awareness Week, Eldorado Park SAPS commends the community on their outstanding participation and commitment thereof,” said Constable Roxanne Gibb.

Drug Awareness Week highlights the impact that drugs and substance abuse have on the youth and the week was from June 24 to June 28.

Eldorado Park SAPS encourages community members to continue reporting those who are contravention of the stipulated laws that have been instituted to ensure a drug free society.

“The impact of the integrated partnership between the community members and the SAPS have once again proved to be a successful venture. This comes after Sunday, June 20 at approximately 9.30 am, members of the Johannesburg K9 unit arrested a 26-year-old male in connection with dealing in drugs in Graniet Street, Eldorado Park,” added Gibb.

According to the statement by Gibb, it has been further alleged by the members that the suspect attempted to flee from them, however their swift response led to the seizure of multiple Crystal meth pipes, substances suspected to be Crystal meth(tik) drugs in big and small ziplock bags, dagga, empty ziplock bags and cash.

Gibb shared that the exhibits were handed in for safekeeping and will be used for further investigation purposes. The 26-year-old suspect was detained at Eldorado Park SAPS and was said to appear before the respective court during the week.

“The stance of a zero tolerance toward a drug inhibited community is that of a strong one. However, the partnership that the community and SAPS have is of utmost importance and a top priority, as it has once again proved that when working together, we can have a positive impact and bring those who conflict with the law to justice, one day at a time,” concluded Gibb.
