A multi-talented young woman, Lebogang Thabane who excels in poetry, motivational speaking, and visual arts launched her first book ‘A pen filled with emotions’ on Saturday, May 29 at 226 turf club road in Kenilworth.
The purpose of the event was to inspire everyone who faces challenges. The book gives hope that anyone can always rise and bloom as beautifully as they want.
It also gives a message that every person’s scars are beautiful and a part of who they are. People should embrace them. The book is a poetry collection that reveals the art and mystery of a woman’s heart as the world’s soul. In the book, one will learn more about love, happiness, sorrows, fear, depression, forgiveness, and many more.
The writing of the book came about after the writer was raped at the age of 16 and grew up facing a lot of challenges and painful family matters that made her realise that her ordeals were not the end of the world and were not unto death.

“What inspired the book was the experience I’ve been through and the name of the book came about when I realized that my pen was indeed filled with my emotions and the only way was to use that same pen on paper to let everything out.
“The motive behind the book is to inspire everyone and other victims of rape that life doesn’t stand still after rape yes it is painful but then when you put things in your way they end up standing in your success way so this is for people to get motivated that they can become something from nothing,” she said.
After struggling and failing to bottle up the pain that the challenges of life come with, Lebogang was inspired to rather start putting her emotions on paper by writing about her life and hiding her emotions.
The 20-year-old writer urges her audience to expect more emotions, motivations, and the unexpected from her as a writer as she believes that her comeback will be huge and the launch was just an introduction of the unspoken words.
