11 arrested for drunken driving over the weekend in Diepkloof

Diepkloof SAPS say NO to non compliance of liquor regulations.

On Saturday, May 29 Diepkloof police embarked on a crime prevention operation, for liquor regulations compliance, mainly focusing on checking taverns that operate without adhering to the COVID-19 regulations as stipulated by the law.

It was a joint operation with the JMPD and it also focused on drunken driving and noncompliance to curfew regulations.

11 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, 1 person was arrested for contravention of a protection order and 1 tavern was closed for operating without required documents.

The Station Commander of Diepkloof SAPS Brigadier Makgomo Maake is appealing to the community to work hand in hand with the police to help fight crime and stop illegal activities in all 4 sectors of Diepkloof.

The community is urged to report all criminal activities to 086001011 or 011933-7400.
