Lehlohonolo Modiba never returned home from school

The Goudveld Vaardigheidsskool learner was last seen on Monday, May 10, the school confirms that he was indeed in class but could not confirm whether he got in to the school bus back home or not.

A 16-year-old Goudveld Specialised School learner Lehlohonolo ‘Goliki’ Modiba has gone missing after he went to school on Monday, May 10, and never returned home.

According to his mother, Sarah ‘Lwaelwae’ Modiba, who is desperately praying for her son’s safe return, his teacher confirmed that he was indeed in class on Monday but couldn’t confirm as to whether he got into the school bus going back home or not. She said she also contacted the bus driver to enquire about this but the driver also couldn’t confirm if Lehlohonolo was on the school bus returning home.

“I am not accusing the school of anything I just need a lead so that as a family we can have an idea of where to start searching, if he never was in the school bus returning home, we will search around Langlaagte and Mayfair and if he was in the bus we would then search around Diepkloof and Orlando. I just want my son back home,” she said.

The school has confirmed that they are aware of this matter and that they are still investigating the matter to find out what transpired on the day.

Lehlohonolo was last seen in his school uniform and his mother has provided us with the information that the school bus usually picks him up at the BP garage on Immink Drive and drops him off there since he stays in Diepkloof Zone 4. The family has opened a missing person case at the Diepkloof SAPS. Anyone with info may contact his mother on 073 506 1702.
