Ntuthuko Shoba denied bail again

The magistrate has expressed that old information was presented as new facts in the last bail application.

Ntuthuko Shoba has been denied bail by the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court and the indictment has been set for May 17 where the trial will move to the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.

The magistrate has expressed that old information was presented as new facts in the last bail application. Not enough new facts were presented to grant bail.

She went on to say that the applicant had mentioned that he was receiving death threats even before he was arrested and if the threats were ongoing and evidence was given, it could have been presented as a new fact and accepted by the court but it wasn’t.

She added that the applicant stated that he needs to be with his grandmother as he has always been there to cater for all her needs however he did not disclose that his mother and father receive a pension and that the brother is available and they all live in the same area, therefore, she is not destitute without the applicant.

Botlhale Modisane the family spokesperson said they were happy with the verdict.
“This verdict for us means that with everything that is happening, the judicial system, NPA, and everyone continues to take this case as seriously as it is. They even took into consideration that these people have been wasting our time with everything,” she said.

The court was pleased with the verdict and everyone who was there in support cursed at Shoba as he walked out of the courtroom, shouting that he deserves to rot in jail.
