Seven suspects arrested in Bramfischerville for business robbery and attempted murder

One of the suspects got shot and was taken to hospital under police guard.

On April 30, in the early hours of the morning, it is alleged that seven African males with firearms entered into a spaza shop in Bramfischerville through a hole that they made.

The suspects proceeded to point their guns at the owner then demanded money; they searched him and took an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.

A member of the SAPS who is also a neighbor was alerted and swiftly responded to the scene while the backup was on the way. A shoot ensued place when the suspects noticed the member of SAPS.

One of the suspects got shot and was taken to hospital under police guard, the other suspects were arrested and detained at Dobsonville Police Station.

During the arrest, police confiscated two firearms and empty cartages, which will go for ballistic assessment to establish if the firearms were previously used in other serious crimes.

The suspects will appear in court for business robbery and attempted murder. Dobsonville station commander brigadier Sipho Ngubane commended the police for their quick response and well-executed arrests with no fear.
