Update: Dobsonville woman arrested for concealment of birth

A baby who was meant to end up amongst the rubbish waste flew out of a plastic bag and landed on the side of a Pikitup truck.

A baby who was meant to end up amongst the rubbish waste flew out of a plastic bag and landed on the side of a Pikitup truck. A suspect who is an African female has been arrested for concealment of birth in Dobsonville Extension 3.

Police apprehended the 29-year-old female on April 28.

Upon the arrival of the police on the scene statements were taken and the suspect came out and was put into the van and taken to the police station.

During their investigations it is alleged that the woman was seen by members of her community holding a plastic bag chasing after the rubbish truck, the foetus fell on the side of the truck while attempting to throw the plastic inside the truck.

The suspect has been taken to the hospital for a mental check-up and remains in the custody of the police.

The station Commander Brigadier Ngubane applauded the swift response by the police that led to the arrest of the suspect.
