JMPD saddened by passing of security officer in Klipsvalley

It was reported that the officer, who has since been identified as Dumisani Trevor Tani, reported for his Thursday night shift on March 18.

The JMPD has expressed shock and sadness on the passing of a security officer who was found dead at the Klipspruit Valley Reavaya Station in Soweto on Friday morning, March 19.

It was reported that the officer, who has since been identified as Dumisani Trevor Tani, reported for his Thursday night shift on March 18.

The following morning, at approximately 4:50 am, a colleague who had arrived to begin his shift and relieve Tani of his, discovered Dumisani burnt and non-responsive inside the station’s toilet. Emergency Services Paramedics were immediately called to the scene but unfortunately declared Tani dead upon arrival.

The JMPD has said that although Tani had been burnt, an inquest docket would be opened at Moroka Police Station to determine the details surrounding Tani’s death.

The department has also sent out condolences to, friends, colleagues and the family of Security officer, Dumisani Tani.

Moroka Police had not responded to questions at the time of going to print.
