Kliptown SAPS nabs two rape suspects

Two males accused of raping a teenage girl have been apprehanded by Kliptown SAPS.

Two males accused of raping a teenage girl have been apprehended by Kliptown SAPS.

It is understood that on March 15, a 19 year old woman was on route to meet up with boyfriend when she came across the two men. The encounter was at approximately 8am along Union Road. According to the victim, the men were known to her and invited her to one of the suspect’s residence where she was offered a drink. The victim recalled that she woke up around 6 pm and realised that she had been sexually assaulted.

She reported the matter at the Kliptown Police Station where a police docket was opened and an investigation was launched. The SAPS say the two suspects – aged 24 and 37 – were on the run when they were caught by police.

Both men were arrested on Monday, March 22 and appeared in court on Tuesday, March 23.
