Naeema Isaacs (24) better known for her work at the Miss Eldorado Park pageant is currently a semi-finalist in the Miss Township South Africa pageant.
As a semi-finalist, Isaacs has been tasked to collect sanitary pads as the pageant is focused on assisting young girls.
“We all know that pads are essential and they are expensive too. I am reaching out and asking for donations for sanitary pads. The foundation that the pageant works with is called Little Girl Arise.
“We aim to give out about five thousand pads to young girls. All the semi-finalists are collecting to reach the goal. The pads that I do collect will be distributed to girls in our community. I’m not sure which school or organisation I can assist with, but I will find one. I believe in assisting in my community first before going into others,” explained Isaacs.
There are about seventy semi-finalists and on May 29 they will reduce the number of semi-finalists. In August, the pageant will be announcing their finalist, however, before May 29, the semi-finalists need to raise funds, each model is required to give a sponsorship of R2200.
Isaacs is asking residents to assist with the sanitary pads, she is also asking for assistance with the sponsorship with raising the R2200.
If Isaacs wins the title of Miss Township South Africa, she would have to work with the Little Girl Arise foundation so that they can continue to assist with sanitary pad drives and make a difference in keeping girls in school during ‘that time of the month’.
