Three new projects on the pipeline for Young Leeg
The positive reception from the song’s release is what motivated the then 16-year-old to pursue music.
Pimville based artist, Young Leeg has opened up about plans to release three new projects in 2021. For those yet to be introduced to him, Siyabonga Hadebe, who goes by the name of Young Leeg is an up-and-coming rapper from Pimville, Soweto.
Although He’s been in the music scene since 2013, he would only release his first single in 2015, titled AmaYellowbone. “In all honesty, I was just testing the water at the time. I had developed a passion for music but had never done anything about it before that,” he told Soweto Urban.
The positive reception from the song’s release is what motivated the then 16-year-old to pursue music. He admitted though, that his family was initially not in favour of his chosen career path. “No at all, they (his family) were not all in agreement,” he laughed as he recalled.

“But over time, they came around when they realised how serious I was about it. They’re very supportive now and I appreciate that” he said.
The 22-year-old revealed that he and his team have been busy in the studio working on a massive three projects set for release later this year. “Yeah, we decided to go all out this. We’ve spent a lot of time in the studio and have three projects that we want to put out this year. But beyond that, we are also planning to go on tour, get the music to the people and grow the brand.”
On hopes for the future, Leeg said he was aiming to emulate the success of his Idol, AKA.
“For me, AKA’s diversity and consistency are qualities I try to replicate. He’s managed to stay on top of the game for such a long and he’s had to change his art a few times to adapt, which is not as easy as it sounds. His music was one of the reasons I got into this,” Leeg added.
