Kliptown SAPS launch manhunt following discovery of burnt body.

Kliptown police are investigating the details surrounding the discovery of human remains inside a burnt car.

On Sunday morning, March 7, Kliptown police responded to a call from residents in the , who had discovered a burning car.

Police reportedly arrived on the scene and found inside the burnt vehicle, what is believed to be the remains of a yet-to-be-identified person.

Paramedics were called to the scene but declared the victim deceased and burnt beyond recognition.

The incident is believed to be a case of murder. While details are still sketchy and motives remain unknown, Captain Hitler Ngwenya of the Kliptown SAPS assured residents that the police would be handling the case with urgency.

“The harrowing rate of murder is of great concern to the SAPS. Nothing less than justice will suffice and trust that measures into the investigation are underway.”
He further urged community members to let law enforcement handle the matter.

“Importantly, we once again wish to implore community members to not take these matters into their own hands.”
