Mid-Ennerdale Primary receives stationery packs

Standard Bank welcomed the opportunity to alleviate the plight of impoverished children by providing them with much-needed school amenities that many of us take for granted.

COVID-19 severely disrupted the lives of many students in 2020. In many cases, learners had to adapt to online or remote learning. Adjustment to this new way of learning and interacting has been hard for most.

Standard Bank welcomed the opportunity to alleviate the plight of impoverished children by providing them with much-needed school amenities that many of us take for granted. The bank partnered with actor, Vuyo Ngcukana, to assist in building a bright future for the next generation of leaders.

Standard Bank worked with Ngcukana to provide stationery packs for primary school learners at Mid-Ennerdale Primary School.

“I have a passion and an interest in early childhood development, education is the one thing that I know can change a person’s life for good; the earlier that happens, the better the chances we have at giving our children a bright future,” said Ngcukana.

The amenities were handed over to Mid-Ennerdale Primary School. Ngcukana added that being a recipient of such generosity fueled his mission of paying it forward.

“I picked Mid-Ennerdale Primary because I once lived in that neighbourhood and I have a nephew who attends the school. I have seen some of the challenges the kids and parents face. I know what it is like to struggle for things that you need to just be on equal footing with other children, to be at a disadvantage so much that you fall behind because of what you’re lacking,” concluded Ngcukana.
