Kliptown SAPS arrest 1 of 3 involved in armed robbery

The victims claim that a sum of money and clothing was taken from them whilst they were held at knife point.

Kliptown SAPS has arrested one of three suspects believed to be behind an armed robbery that occurred in Pimville along Modjadji Street on February 21.

While on their way home, two people were allegedly attacked by three men on Sunday evening, at approximately 6 pm.

The victims claim a sum of money and clothing was taken from them whilst they were held at knifepoint. The victims then proceeded to report the ordeal at Kliptown Police Station where a case docket was opened and an investigation was launched.

A 29-year-old male was arrested on Wednesday and appeared at the Kliptown Magistrate’s Court earlier today.

Captain Hitler Ngwenya of the Kliptown SAPS urged the public to continue reporting all forms of crime to the police.

“We’d like to appeal to members of the public to please continue reporting crime and bringing information to the attention of the police so we can arrest whoever commits a crime in the area,” he said.
