4 gunmen attempting to rob a CiT truck gunned down in Bramfischer

The attempted heist took place at a filling station in Soweto on Januar, 7 when the gunfight ensued between the cops and the gunmen.

The people expressed relief on social media after the police gunned down four gunmen who were attempting to rob the Cash in Transit (CiT) truck in Bramfischer.

Four gunmen were gunned down amongst the other suspects who fled the scene.

The number of suspects who have fled was undisclosed, however, the National Commissioner for the Police, General Khehla Sitole commended the police for their vigilance in standing against crime, he said, “This incident should send a strong warning to everyone who is involved in all kinds of criminal activities, especially violent crime activities that they should quit crime.”

Sbusiso Valoyi tweeted, “Well done, and thank you. The level they are killing innocent lives and those of the CIT officers is sad, finally, they are getting a taste of their own medicine. These CIT officers are only trying to make a living for their families.”

The police are hoping to catch the remaining suspects with the implementation of the 72-hour activation plan to mobilize all resources.
